21st Annual Temple Beth-El
Men’s Club Golf Outing

RULES & FORMAT

Welcome to all of our players at the 21st Annual TBE Men’s Club Golf Outing. The outing will be played as a "handicapped stroke play" event. Teams will play for one single team score calculated at the end of the round (18 holes). Each team will have one player designated as the “Team Captain”. The playing rules are:

  • All players will pre-register for the outing and include an AVERAGE SCORE. That's the typical score you shoot for 18 holes of play on a par 70 course. We'll use this number to assign an "EVENT SPECIFIC HANDICAP" to each player. You'll play the round and record your actual scores. At the end of the round each golfer will deduct their assigned handicap to determin a "net" score. The "net" scores of each team member will be added up and then divided by the number of players in the group to determine a single score for the team. For example, player A shoots a 102 and is assigned a handicap of 32 strokes. His "net" score is 70.

  • Tee off from Red tees for Men, Green for Ladies and Seniors (ages 65+).

  • Every player plays his/her own ball from tee to putt and records their actual score.

  • Relief will be taken out of all bunkers. Remove your ball and place it no closer to the hole, on the grass in the area closest to where it entered the bunker.

  • Maximum score is 3 over par on each hole. Once you have reached a max score, pick up your ball and move to the next hole.

  • In the event of a tie among our 1st, 2nd or 3rd place teams, we will break the tie by ‘blind draw’ of a random hole (from among the common holes played) and compare the scores for that hole. We will continue the process until a higher place is selected and if a tie still exists we’ll simply flip a coin.

Awards and/or prizes will be presented to the players on our 1st , 2nd and 3rd place teams. In addition, there will be contest winners for “closest to the pin (X2, holes #6 & 16)”, and for “longest drive” (hole # 15 - in the fairway) for both regular & Seniors (ages 65+). Hole In One contests will occur around the course on the par-3 holes. The BIG, BIG prize is at #9, where a Hole In One wins $15,000 (cash or may be applied to the purchase or lease of a vehicle from Gregory Auto Group. Hole-In-One prizes (of various types) will also be done at three other par-3 holes. ** PLEASE NOTE: if more than one hole-in-one occurs on hole #9, the prize will be divided equally among those who accomplished the feat.
